The 45th Ohio Volunteer Infantry was mustered out of United States service today at Camp Harker near Nashville, Tennessee.
The recruits of the 45th O.V.I were transferred to the 51st O.V.I. today. The 45th O.V.I. left Camp Harker this morning and stopped a few minutes at General Kimball's headquarters where the general made us a speech. We then marched to Nashville and got aboard of the cars, which ran all night.
We arrived in Louisville, Kentucky at twelve o:clock noon. We left Louisville Ky at five o'clock in the afternoon on the Steamboat, Major Anderson on the Ohio River.
We arrived in Cincinnati, Ohio this morning at eight o'clock. We left Cincinnati at twelve o'clock noon and arrived in Columbus, Ohio at seven o'clock in the evening. We went to Todd's Barracks and we got our supper there. I am on guard, a guarding the regimental baggage. I am on guard for the last time while in the Service.
