west of Columbus, Ohio.

The 45th O.V.I left Camp Chase this morning for Kentucky. Arrived at Covington at Dusk. The citizens gave us our supper in the Market House. Co. H. camped for the night in Magnolia Hall Covington.
Yet in Covington.
Left Covington this morning for Cynthianna. Arrived at Cynthianna ??? P.M & camped for the night in a church.
Laying in camp at Cynthianna and the camp is named Camp Todd.
I am regimental guard this morning all day.
Came off Regimental this morning.
Drilling: Company drill: Our picket brought in five rebels and five horses.

I on picket duty. The 45th is building a fort.
Came in from picket.
The 99th O.V.D. came here in a hurry and left Cynthianna with us on the cars. Before we leftnthe Quartermaster burned all of his stores. We lost part of our tents. Reported that the rebs are advancing with a heavy force. We fell back to Falmouth.
